FEP-/PFA- ENCAPSULATED O-RINGS
Highest quality FEP-/PFA-encapsulated O-rings
FEP-/PFA- encapsulated O-rings for demanding media
FEP-/PFA-encapsulated seals consist of an elastic core – such as FKM, VMQ, or EPDM – which is seamlessly enclosed by a thin-walled jacket of FEP or PFA. The jacket thickness depends on the inner diameter and the cross-section of the O-ring.
The properties of FEP and PFA are similar to those of pure PTFE and offer almost complete resistance to solvents and chemicals. At the same time, the elastomer core provides the necessary flexibility and resilience.
This combination opens up new application possibilities in demanding areas such as the chemical, oil and gas industry, mechanical engineering, or food technology. Chemical resistance is maintained even under demanding conditions.
The result: flexible and chemical-resistant seals for extreme operating conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions about FEP/PFA-Encapsulated O-Rings
What are FEP-encapsulated O-rings?
FEP-encapsulated O-rings consist of an elastic core (e.g. made of FKM, VMQ or EPDM) that is seamlessly enclosed by a thin FEP jacket. Through this combination, they unite the elasticity of the core material with the excellent chemical resistance of the FEP outer layer, making them ideal for demanding sealing applications.
What advantages do FEP-encapsulated O-rings offer compared to conventional O-rings?
The FEP material provides near-complete chemical resistance against aggressive media, while the elastomer core delivers the necessary flexibility and recovery properties. As a result, FEP-encapsulated O-rings combine high resistance and reliability, even in sensitive industries such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals or food processing.
In which industries are FEP-encapsulated O-rings typically used?
FEP-encapsulated O-rings are particularly suitable for applications involving aggressive chemicals or high hygienic requirements. Typical fields of application include the chemical industry, pharmaceuticals and food processing, petrochemicals, as well as other industrial processes where contact with solvent-based or highly reactive media may occur.
Why is seamless encapsulation important?
Seamless encapsulation ensures that the FEP jacket fully encloses the entire O-ring without interruption, maximizing chemical resistance and minimizing potential weak points where media could penetrate. This is especially important in critical applications where tightness and safety are top priorities.
